Watercraft launch project complete
Members have requested an easier way to get their paddle boards or other watercraft into and out of the water. As a solution, barriers and a sandy bottom were installed next to the watercraft storage area at the Big Lake Park. This will allow people to wade knee-high into the water and launch without hitting or stepping on any rocks. Note the lake was lowered for this project, but is now filling back up.
Speaking of watercraft...
There are many craft stored at the Big Lake Park and Peninsula locations that are clearly in violation of the watercraft policy which is available under the Documents section of this site. The policy was put into place to ensure only Members are storing craft and utilizing the lakes and that craft do not become abandoned. Please review the policy and register your craft if you haven't already. Craft will be impounded if not registered and/or are stored past the allowable timeframe. Thank you for your understanding.
